Boulevard! A Hollywood Story is a 2021 American documentary film by Jeffrey Schwarz, who directed and co-produced with John Boccardo. It is about the story of Gloria Swanson who attempted to adapt a musical version of the Billy Wilder's 1950 film Sunset Boulevard and worked with Dickson Hughes and Richard Stapley to write the book and score.[1][2][3]

Director-producer Jeffrey Schwarz did not interviewed Gloria Swanson but he got her archived interviews, letters and recordings, which she did along with Dickson Hughes and Richard Stapley for her musical adaptation of the Billy Wilder's 1950 film Sunset Boulevard. John Boccardo coproduced the Boulevard! A Hollywood Story, Miriam Cutler composed the music, and executive producers were Alan Eichler, Gerald Herman, and Scott Sigman.[4] Illustrated animations in the film were done by Maurice Vellekoop.[4]

Released

Boulevard! A Hollywood Story was screened at Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival and Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival, and later at OUTshine Film Festival and Seattle Queer Film Festival in 2021.[5][6][7]
