History
Canton's Pennsylvania Railroad station initially occupied the site. That building was demolished in 1976 and Amtrak constructed a new station building of a standard design meant to accommodate fifty passengers. It opened in June 1978.[1] Amtrak service ended in 1990 as services were rerouted on the main lines further to the north.[2]
