Chimnaji Phatak

Chimnaji Phatak was a general and aide-de-camp in the Maratha confederacy under Peshwa Madhavrao II. He fought in the Battle of Kharda on March 11, 1795, alongside his son Balkrishna Phatak. He served as aide-de-camp to Baba Phadke during the battle.[1][2]

Originally from Kasop, Phatak was a member of the Chitpavan brahmin Phatak gharana of Jambhali. He was married to Uma Phatak, and the couple had two sons. His younger brother Ramchandra was an ancestor of Y. V. Phatak and Ashutosh Phatak.[3]
