Ejgayehu Taye

Ejgayehu Taye (born 10 February 2000) is an Ethiopian Olympic athlete.[1]

In July 2018, Taye won the silver medal in the 5,000m at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships, in Tampere, Finland ahead of her compatriot Tsigie Gebreselama.[2]

In June 2021, Taye set a new personal best of 14:14.09 in the 5000m as she finished second in the Ethiopian Olympic trials behind Gudaf Tsegay and ahead of Senbere Teferi to secure her place at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.[3]

Competing at the Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's 5000 metres Taye finished fourth in heat one to qualify for the final.[4]
