Enlighted is known for manufacturing smart light fixtures and other sensor-based products.[9][10][11] They have provided smart sensors that use Bluetooth technology to turn on LED lights with location-based tracking.[12][13]

Enlighted also provides an IoT sensory system that uses cloud-based software to improve energy saving and asset management.[14][15]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Enlighted also launched Safe, a Bluetooth-based platform that helps monitor the spread of COVID-19 by tracing contact between employees.[16][17] Enlighted and Siemens also partnered with Salesforce to provide employees with mobile data related to their workplace’s COVID-19 protocols.[18]

History

Enlighted was founded in 2009 by Tanuj Mohan, Tushar Dave, and Premal Ashar.[19] Mohan eventually took the role of CTO, while Joe Costello was appointed Chairman and CEO of the company in 2014.[3][20][6]

In 2015, Enlighted partnered with JLL that allowed JLL to use Enlighted’s sensor technology to help customers lower their energy consumption.[10]

In 2016, Enlighted was named an Energy Innovation Pioneer at the IHS Energy CERAWeek conference.[21]

Siemens’ Building Technologies Division acquired Enlighted in 2018.[1][22] After the acquisition, Siemens appointed Stefan Schwab as CEO of the company.[23]

In 2019, Enlighted was awarded North American New Product Innovation Award and in 2020 the North American Company of the Year Award by Frost & Sullivan.[24]

Enlighted partnered with Wipro Lighting in 2021 to integrate their sensor technology into Wipro’s LED technology.[2][25]
