INOX Leisure Limited is amongst India's largest multiplex chains with 156 multiplexes and 658 screens in 70 cities, as of October 2021[5].[6][7][8] It is part of the INOX Group of companies.[9]

Sustainability
The Metro INOX multiplex at Mumbai is India's first cinema to be powered by solar power. This was a first-ever instance in the Indian cinema industry according to INOX’s Director Siddharth Jain.[10] In another first, INOX has also installed Electric Vehicle charging station at its multiplex in Pune. [11]
History and operations
INOX Leisure Limited was formed on 9th November 1999 as Public Limited Company.[12] It is a subsidiary of Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd.[13]
- Year 2002 - Commenced operations as first four-screen Multiplex at Pune and later four-screen multiplex at Vadodara.
- Year 2004 - Commenced operations in Kolkata, Goa and Mumbai with Mumbai one having five-screen Multiplex.
- Year 2005 - commences operation in second five-screen Multiplex in Bangalore and a two-screen Multiplex in Jaipur. Enters into distribution business by signing Memorandum of Understanding relating to it, with Pantaloons for preferential access to operate Multiplex's in places where Pantaloons are operating. Also starts Multiplexes at Indore, Darjeeling and Kota. Also makes public issue of 16,500,000 equity shares of Rs.10 each with pricing of Rs.120 per share consisting of a fresh issue of 12,000,000 equity shares of Rs.10 each and an offer for sale of 4,500,000 equity shares of Rs.10 each by Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd.
Acquisitions
In 2006, INOX acquired 89 Cinemas, owned by Calcutta Cinema Private Ltd (CCPL), in a share swap deal, giving INOX ownership of nine multiplexes in West Bengal and Assam.[14]
INOX acquired Satyam Cineplexes Limited by way of acquisition of 100% of the equity share capital from its existing shareholders which is valued at Rs 182 crores.[6]
Awards
INOX Leisure Ltd was given the 'Technology Adopter of the Year' Award by Big Cine Expo 2016[15].[16]
