Galaxy Group of Companies

Galaxy Group of Companies was founded by Gurgen Khachatryan, Artyom Khachatryan and Aram Khachatryan in the late 1990s.

The early companies in Galaxy Group included Megafood LLC[5] - food products importation company, Santafe open air restaurant, Chronograph[6] - luxury watches and jewelry stores. On later stages, the group expanded to the region with more than 29 stores in 3 countries.[7]

Galaxy Group of Companies has access to every third household in Armenia through its products and services. Galaxy Group of Companies is as one of the largest employers of Armenia with more than 3000 well paid employees.[8]

The annual tax rate of the company was more than 27 million USD as of 2019[9] and it has increased to 31 million USD as of 2020.[10]

Galaxy Group of Companies is one of the biggest contributors of non-commercial social and development projects in Armenia. Through its corporate Foundation,[11] Galaxy has invested in innovative education in public schools of Armenia[12] partnering with Teach for Armenia.[13] The company has supported Armenian startup community,[14] has organized a series of Pecha-Kucha events dedicated to human-centric architecture;[15] has become the official partner of Armenian State Symphony Orchestra[16] and Creative Armenia[17] non-conventional art initiative. The company has also contributed to thought leadership theme with a number of storytelling and publishing projects, including the translation of Yuval Noah Harari's trilogy in Armenian.[18]
