Gene Yearwood
Thomas "Gene" Yearwood (September 18, 1940 – March 25, 2015) was an American football coach. He was the 26th head football coach at The Apprentice School in Newport News, Virginia serving for two seasons, from 1975 to 1976, and compiling a record of 2–13–1.[1][2] Yearwood left The Apprentice School in 1977 and was replaced by Norm Snead, who had played as a quarterback for 16 seasons in the National Football League (NFL).[3]

Yearwood was born on September 18, 1940, in Toccoa, Georgia. He graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia and Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia. Yearwood died on March 25, 2015, at Wexford House in Kingsport, Tennessee.[4]
