Gregory Gordon (bishop)
Gregory William Gordon (born October 4, 1960) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who serves as auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Las Vegas.

Early life and education
Gordon was born on October 4, 1960 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He moved with his family to Boulder City, Nevada in 1972. He attended St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1978-1980) and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary (1980-1983). Gordon received a Bachelor of Sacred Theology (STB) from the Pontifical Gregorian University (1986) and a Licentiate of Sacred Theology (STL) from the Pontifical Lateran University (1987) in Rome.[1]
Priesthood
Gordon was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Daniel F. Walsh on January 16, 1988 for the Diocese of Reno-Las Vegas. He was later incardinated into the Diocese of Las Vegas when it was split from the Diocese of Reno by Pope John Paul II on March 21, 1995.[2][3]
Gordon served as parochial vicar at St. Francis de Sales parish, Las Vegas (1988-1990); associate pastor (1990-1991) and administrator (1991-1992) at St. Anne parish, Las Vegas; campus ministry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (1992-1993); pastor pro tempore at St. Mary the Virgin parish, Las Vegas (1993); associate pastor at Our Lady of Las Vegas parish, Las Vegas (1993-1994); administrator (1994-1995) and pastor (1995-2003) at St. Christopher parish, North Las Vegas; and pastor at St. Francis of Assisi parish, Henderson (2004-2007). From 2007-2014, Gordon was assigned to the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington, D.C., serving as secretary to Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Pietro Sambi and later, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò. On May 21, 2009, Gordon was named a Chaplain of His Holiness by Pope Benedict XVI, which granted him the title of monsignor. He served as pastor at St. Anne parish in Las Vegas from 2014-2020. He was named chancellor, moderator of the curia, and vicar general for the Diocese of Las Vegas in 2020.[1][4]
Episcopal career
Auxiliary Bishop of Las Vegas
On May 28, 2021, Gordon was named an auxiliary bishop of Las Vegas and the titular bishop of Nova Petra by Pope Francis. He received his episcopal consecration on July 16, 2021 from Bishop George Leo Thomas, with Bishops Joseph A. Pepe and Daniel F. Walsh, serving as co-consecrators.[1][2][5][6] In August 2021 he stated that the Las Vegas diocese would not be issuing religious exemptions for the COVID-19 vaccine.[7]
