Himalayan University 4th Convocation

HU, Itanagar – The 4th annual convocation of the Himalayan University was held at the University campus in Jollang, Itanagar on 11-Oct-2021. Hon’ble Minister of Industry, Skill Development and Trade & Commerce; 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢. 𝐓𝐮𝐦𝐤𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚, who participated in the ceremony as Chief Guest, said that “Arunachal Pradesh has a special need for making the youths ready to handle modern technology for development of indigenous handicraft, textiles, bamboo and wood products, cultivation and medicine plants”. He also added that he has great expectations with HU that the Himalayan University would continue to provide education and training “to nurture profession skill among the youth.” In the same gala event of HU 4th Convocation; 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐲𝐚 𝐄𝐭𝐞, (Retd. IAS), APPEIRC – Chairperson also participated in the same event as Guest of Honor; said that students and parents have lots of expectations from HU that imparting higher education to thousands of students for achieving the goal of student life; where in the same event Shri. Tani Loffa, Advisory Board Member - HU, also added his words that HU is dedicatedly providing good quality of [higher education] to the youth of Arunachal Pradesh and he also offered Gold medals to the toppers of HU from different streams.

Himalayan University 3rd Convocation

3rd Convocation of Himalayan University held at Jollang, Itanagar through virtual mode on 24-July-2021. HU congratulates all the students who graduate in summer 2021. Under the Covid prevention measures; the situation has pressurized us to conduct the student gala event of Convocation through virtual mode. On the event Prof. H.S Sharma, VC, HU convey his greetings and felicitates to HU’s graduates on their academic achievements. On the same event, Shri. Tani Loffa, Chairman, Advisory Board, Himalayan University said that University is growing exponentially in all the ways while imparting higher education of international standard and he also expressed his heartfelt congratulations to all the medalists and conveyed his best wishes to all the graduates for their future endeavors.

Himalayan University 2nd Convocation Program held on 21-Feb-2020"Myriapoda"

The second convocation of the Himalayan University (HU) in Papum Pare district was held with Education Minister Taba Tedir, Education Special Secretary Santosh Rai, Capital SP Tumme Amo, and PWD Capital Division EE A Shri Tana Nikam Tara in attendance. The ceremony was presided over by Himalayan University Vice-Chancellor Dr. HS Sharma.

Reading out the university’s annual report, the VC informed that 1702 degrees in different streams at the UG and the PG levels would be awarded this year, in person and in absentia. "The Himalayan University is spread over 23 acres of land, with campuses in Chimpu and Jollang. The university started with 55 students in 2013-14, and is currently having more than 3500 students," he said. Shri Taba Tedir awarded the gold medals to the toppers.

In his convocation address, the Education Minister highlighted the various schemes of the government, and said the present state government "is dedicated to enhance the standard of education, from the primary to the higher education level.” Shri Santosh Rai in his address advised the students to “focus on their target and work hard to achieve it." Tumme Amo spoke on the importance of discipline and health, and urged the students to refrain from using “abusive substances.”

Himalayan University conducted its 1st Convocation on 22-Dec-2017 at its campus in Jullong, Itanagar. Around 410 alumni were entitled to award with degrees from different disciplines including students from Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Education, B.ed (Spl.Ed), Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanity & Social Studies, Faculty of Library Science, Faculty of Social Work, Faculty of Naturopathy Medicine, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Faculty of Fine Arts and Pmanyerforming Arts, and many more. The occasion was graced by attending the programme by Swami Vishweshananda from R.K Mission Hospital Secretary as chief guest and by Shri Ravinder Sathe from Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini as Guest of honor where they direct the students to do best in their career and not to forgot the learning taught by Himalayan University while implied in every phase of life and they also added few lines in their speech that students need to identify their potential and greets with best wishes for their future endeavor.

Himalayan University conduct its 1st Convocation on 22-Dec-2017 in Jallong Campus, Itanagar

Himalayan University had celebrated its Annual Sports Meet 2017 on 1-Dec-2017 to 4-Dec-2017 where Shri Tapir Gao, BJP President (State) of Itanagar had visited the occasion as Chief Guest with Shri Tapuk Taku, Minister of Tax & Excise as Guest of Honor where they directed the students to study hard and to do best in their career and awarded the students with medals and trophies. Around 400 students participated in the games including Long Jump, High Jump, Football and Badminton. The main vision of conducting annual sports day is to invite the students and all faculty members to get introduce with each other through the mode of games and cultural activities.

In order to provide easy access and quality educational resources to the students of Arunachal Pradesh, Distance Education Bureau of University Grant Commission has granted approval to Himalayan University for offering five programmes – B.A., B.Com., M.A. (History), M.A. (English), M.Com. through distance education mode for January 2020 session vide notification F. No. 1-11/2019 (DEB-I) dated 30-12-2019. This is the first State Private University in the State of Arunachal Pradesh to be bestowed with the responsibility of reached the unreached and geographically challenged. This step should help integrate the North East Region with the mainland; one of the initiatives of the Prime Minister of India.
