Ilulissat Art Museum

The Ilulissat Art Museum (Danish: Ilulissat Kunstmuseum) is an art museum in Ilulissat, Avannaata Municipality, Greenland.

History

The museum building used to be the house for 5 colony managers and 5 commercial principles which was originally constructed in 1923.[1] Later on, the house was acquired by the municipal colony and turned into a museum which was opened in 1995.[2]

Architecture

The museum building was designed by Boysen Møller.[1] It consists of two floors.[2]

Exhibitions

The ground floor exhibits permanent exhibitions about paintings of Emanuel A. Petersen. The upper floor exhibits contemporary exhibitions by different visual artists.[2]
