Jay Tyack

Jay Tyack (born 7 June 1996)[1] is an English professional rugby union player. He plays the position of Tighthead Prop for Premiership Rugby club Worcester Warriors.

Tyack began playing rugby at the age of 11 whilst at secondary school. He gained a scholarship for his rugby to study his A-levels at Bryanston. In 2014 Tyack was named in the England U18s Clubs and Schools squad to compete in the U18 Tri-Nations Tournament which took place over in France from the 14-21 April 2014.[2] Tyack was a member of The Cornish Pirates Playing Development Foundation from 2014 - 2016 before signing a 1 year contract at Chinnor Rugby Club for the 2016-2017 season.[3] Followed a 2 year stint at Birmingham Moseley from 2017-2019 under guidance from Director of Rugby Richard Protherough.[4]

Tyack returned home to play for The Cornish Pirates at the Mennaye with a 2 year contract for the 2019/20 and 2020/21 season. This time making 31 appearances for the Mens First Team with the support and guidance of Director or Rugby and Coach Alan Paver and coaches Gavin Cattle and Chris Morgan.[5]

In November 2020 Tyack went on loan to Gloucester until January 2021[6] making his debut against Lyon in the European Champions Cup.[7] Before, returning to the Pirates for their infamous "shipwreck" of the relegated Saracens Team on 6th March 2021. The Pirates beat Saracens 25-17 at The Mennaye in their first game since the COVID-19 lockdown began.[8] Tyack was named in the Rugby Paper's Championship Team of the season 2021, picked by the leagues coaches.[9]

Tyack signed to join Premiership Rugby team Worcester Warriors on a two year contract ahead of the 2021/22. However, due to 2 injuries in the squad he was loaned to the Warriors for the end of the 2020/2021 season.[10]
