July 2008 Iwate earthquake

The July 2008 Iwate earthquake (Japanese: 岩手県沿岸北部地震) is an earthquake that occurred in Iwate Prefecture, Japan on July 23, 2008. Depth was 108 km, moment magnitude was 6.8. Since this earthquake was a deep-focus earthquake, the shaking of the earthquake was observed over a wide range.[5] It had a maximum JMA intensity of Shindo 6− (Aomori and Iwate).[3] The earthquake left 1 person dead and 211 people injured.[6]
