History

The AM frequency was first licensed as KBET, on January 25, 2002 at Pocatello, Idaho, and renewed on December 1, 2005.[2]

On December 18, 2008, radio industry website 100000watts.com reported that KPTO had gone silent. On May 29, 2009, the Fifth District Court in Washington County, Utah appointed a receiver to take over KPTO for US Capital, Incorporated of Boulder, Colorado. The investment company foreclosed on Legacy Media, owner of KPTO, along with several other stations. On November 19, 2013, the receiver sold the station for $41,000 to Ted Austin's Main Street Broadcasting, LLC in a District Court-approved sale, which was conditioned upon the FCC renewing the station's license.

On May 16, 2014, KPTO was subsequently sold for $75,000 by Main Street to Freedom's Voice Broadcasting Corporation, co-owned by Tim Aalders and Anthony Bean. On June 17, 2014, Aalders paid $32,000 and assumed sole ownership of the station under Freedom's Voice Radio LLC. Effective March 27, 2017, Aadlers sold the station for $22,000 to current owner, Sun Valley Media Group, LLC, headed by Scott Parker.

Parker moved the station more than 100 miles (northwest) from Bannock County to Blaine County, Idaho. The station's call sign of "KPTO" was changed to “KHLY” on September 12, 2019, to reflect its new community of license of Hailey, where a new radio tower was constructed. Parker also signed-on an FM translator station (K279DA) in Sun Valley, which re-broadcasts the station on 103.7 MHz. Programming was re-launched on January 1, 2020.
