Kulia Union

Kulia (Bengali: কুলিয়া) is a union parishad situated at the north-west part of Debhata Upazila, in Satkhira District, Khulna Division of Bangladesh.[1]

Location and boundaries

Kuliya Union is bounded on the north by Alipore Union, on the south by Parulia Union, on the east by Fingri Union and Bhomra, which is adjacent to the Indian state of West Bengal.

History

Guruthakurgans of Satkhira zamindars lived in Kulia Union which is why the post office and a village are called Gurugram.

Asadul Haque Election 2021

01 Md. Asadul Haque, who has been elected chairman in six times and Kulia union porishod is the most powerful person in the union, has played an important role in district politics, he was the treasurer of the district Awami League more than once, he is currently the vice-president of the district Awami League.

A. F. M. Entaz Ali

02 A. F. M. Entaz Ali, was born on 20 January 1937. He was involved in politics during his student life. After completing postgraduate studies from University of Dhaka he started his career as a lawyer. He was an organizer of the Liberation War of Bangladesh. He also took part in the Liberation War of Bangladesh. After the Liberation of Bangladesh he was elected as a member of the Jatiya Sangsad from Khulna-12 in 1973. Entaz Ali died on 26 January 1998 at the age of 61.

03 Md. Asaduzzaman Asad, who is the owner of Care Diagnostic Center and Clinic, has been providing health services in Satkhira district with a good reputation. He is also a member of Bangladesh Private Clinic and Diagnostic Owners Association and a prominent social worker. He was born in an aristocratic family of Shashadanga village in Kulia Union to his father Nur Mohammad Sardar a prominent social worker.
