Kurshab
Kurshab (established as Pokrovskoe, and known as Leninskoye before 2003 [1]) is a large village in Osh Region of Kyrgyzstan. It is part of the Özgön District.[2] The settlement was established as Pokrovskoe by settlers from majorly Kiev Governorate of Russian Empire in 1893. By 1900s Pokrovskoe amounted to 186 households. [3] Its population was 16,364 in 2009.[4] It is situated near the river Kurshab, between the cities Osh and Özgön.
