Line 22 (Guangzhou Metro)

Line 22 of Guangzhou Metro (Chinese: 广州地铁22号线; pinyin: Guǎngzhōu Dìtiě Èrshí'èr Hào Xiàn) is a rapid transit express line under construction in Guangzhou.[4][5] It will run in a south-north direction, connecting Panyu Square and Guangzhou South Railway Station in Panyu District, Xilang and Fangcun in Liwan District.

Summary

Phase 1

The line runs approximately north-south, starting at Panyu Square in Panyu District and the end of the line at Fangcun; connecting Nansha and Fangcun, with a total length of 30.8 km (19.1 mi)[2] and 8 stations. The Guangzhou Metro Line 22 has stations at Panyu Square, Shiguanglu, Guangzhou South Railway Station, Chentougang, Nanpuxi, Nanjiao, Xilang and Fangcun. The line is an express subway line using 8 car Type D trains with an operating speed of 160 km/h (99 mph).[6] Two distinct stopping patterns will be operated, a local all stop service and an express service.

North extension

The North extension of Line 22 will be 41.1 km in length with 10 new stations, to Airport North (Terminal 2) in Huadu District of Guangzhou. It will be fully underground.[7]
