Lucretia (Artemisia Gentileschi, Potsdam)
Lucretia is a 1620-1650 oil on canvas painting by Artemisia Gentileschi.[1] it, a Bathsheba in her Bath and a Judith with the Head of Holofernes were all recorded in 1671 as being Artemisia Gentileschi works then in the Farnese Palazzo del Giardino in Parma. It and Bathsheba were acquired by Frederick II of Prussia without his knowing the Lucretia was by Gentileschi. They both now hang in the Great Hall of the Neues Palais in Potsdam.[2]
