Lux Æterna (film)

Lux Æterna is a 2019 French drama film directed by Gaspar Noé.[1] It was screened out of competition at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. It is a metafictional drama centered around actresses Charlotte Gainsbourg and Béatrice Dalle playing themselves making a film about witches.

Release

The film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on 18 May 2019.[3][4] It was set to screen at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2020; however, the festival was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[5][6] It was released in France on 23 September 2020 by UFO Distribution and Potemkine Films.[7]

Reception

Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes calculated a 50% approval rating from 16 reviews and scored a 5.7/10 average rating.[8]
