Magandang Buhay

Magandang Buhay (lit. 'Beautiful Life') is a Philippine morning talk show broadcast by Kapamilya Channel, hosted by Karla Estrada, Melai Cantiveros and Jolina Magdangal. The program premiered on April 18, 2016.[1] The show currently airs every weekdays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

The title is inspired from a popular line of the same name from the drama series Dream Dad.[2]

History

Magandang Buhay started broadcasting on ABS-CBN on April 18, 2016, weekdays at 7:30 AM, replacing Kris TV.[1] From June 21, 2016, onwards, the show moved its time slot to 8:00 AM.[3]

On March 26, 2020, Magandang Buhay temporarily aired live via Zoom's work-from-home arrangement due to the COVID-19's enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.[4] The show got suspended on May 5, 2020, after ABS-CBN ceased its free-to-air broadcast operations as ordered by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and Solicitor General Jose Calida.[5] as a compliance to President Rodrigo Duterte's objection to its franchise bid.

On June 15, 2020, Magandang Buhay resumed its live studio broadcast on pay cable-and-satellite via Kapamilya Channel.[6] The show later changed its time slot to 10:30 AM on October 19, 2020, following its simulcast on free-to-air channel A2Z.[7] A week later, October 24, the show's runtime reduced to 60 minutes, airing it at 11:00 AM.[8]

As of June 14, 2021 onwards, Magandang Buhay reverted its time slot to 9:00 AM.[9]
