"Make My Day" is a song by Jamaican dancehall artist Buju Banton. It was released on August 2, 1993 as the final single from his breakthrough album Voice of Jamaica.

Background and composition

The song was defined by Rolling Stone as a "sunny dancehall love anthem" containing notable influences of new jack swing. In the song Banton expresses to his loved one how much she makes him feel alive and happy, eventually thanking her for always "making his day".[1]

Critical reception

Jo-Ann Greene of AllMusic complimented the single, saying that "It's an extraordinarily rich number, and producer Dave Kelly creates a lush setting, enlivened by his crisp drum programming, but given a languorous feel by Leroy Roman's throbbing bass and luxurious keyboards".[2]
