Marcgravia
Marcgravia is a genus of plants in the Marcgraviaceae family commonly eaten by the dwarf little fruit bat the plant is native to the Caribbean Islands, Central America, and South America. The genus is named in memory of the German naturalist Georg Marcgraf. The plant is visited by Thomas's nectar bat.

General information
Marcgravia is a genus of vines. It was named for George Marcgraf who fist saw it on a voyage to Brazil. Marcgravia is classified as a sub-parasitical shrub. Marcgravia is pollinated by Thomas's nectar bat. Marcgravia rectiflora, Marcgravia sintennisill, Marcgravia tobagensis and Marcgravi trinitatis are species of Marcgravia.

Infls. with (3 –)8 –12(–17) fls. Nectaries 2 – 4; pedicle ca. 1 cm; cup 8 –13 mm. Flower buds erect to oblique at almost 90°, 4 –8 mm, ovoid-conical. Fls. with reflex pedicel, 20–25 mm.
