Michael McCullers

Michael McCullers (born 1971) is an American screenwriter who specializes in comedy films.

Early life

A native of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, McCullers attended Indian Springs School, a private high school in Birmingham, Alabama.[1] McCullers was awarded a National Merit Scholarship.

Career

McCullers started his career as writer on Saturday Night Live. He later co-wrote the scripts for Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers in Goldmember, two films of the Austin Powers film series starring Mike Myers, which became his most acclaimed works. He wrote and directed the 2008 comedy Baby Mama starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.[2] In 1999, it inked a deal with New Line Cinema, where he was allowed to write their own comedy projects.[3]

McCullers later wrote the 2017 film The Boss Baby for DreamWorks Animation, and, with Genndy Tartakovsky, co-wrote Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018) for Sony Pictures Animation.[4]

He is set to write Shrek 5 for DreamWorks Animation,[5] and is working on the script for the animated adaptation of Frogkisser!.[6]

Personal life

McCullers lives in Los Angeles,[7] with his wife and four children.[8]
