NCS is one of the largest schools in Warwickshire and the current Executive Headmistress of the school is Mrs Alison Ramsay.

Within the campus, Nicholas Chamberlaine VI Form is situated in the David Attenborough building. It is one of the best performing VI Forms (top 10%) in the United Kingdom and the current Head is Rhona Bayliss.

The current Senior Leadership Team (SLT) consists of one Deputy Headmistress, Joanne Turner, and four Assistant Head Teachers.

Within the school, it is equipped with its very own Hub which assists students with Special Educational Needs to create a safe and quiet environment. The current SEN Lead is Hannah Roberts.

The School is named after Nicholas Chamberlaine (1632–1715) who was a local benefactor of the small town and a prominent figure in the history of Bedworth.

The school officially opened in 1953 where The Headmaster was Mr. Skinner and at this time NCS was a comprehensive school.

The school became a specialist technology college before reforming to an academy status in September 2013, when it became affiliated with the Griffin Schools Trust. The school had been classified as "failing" and placed under special measures in late 1999.[1] but thereafter began a turnaround.[2] In 2015 the school received a "good school" rating from Ofsted, its first such rating in 60 years.[3]

Footballer and co-director of The Azaylia Foundation Ashley Cain attended Nicholas Chamberlaine School.

WWE Wrestler Manraj Gill also attended Nicholas Chamberlaine School.

The author of speculative fiction Graham Joyce also attended Nicholas Chamberlaine School in the late 1960s.[5]

The former Coventry City, Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday player Andy Blair went to the school in the 1970s.[6]

Former teacher, Alaric Bristow, posed as a 15-year-old girl to groom boys. In January 2019, Bristow pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court to 12 counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and 10 counts of making or possession of indecent images. He was sentenced to a five-year custodial sentence with an extended licence period, during which time he will be monitored, of six years.[7]
