Nick Pratto

Nicholas Michael Pratto (born October 6, 1998) is an American professional baseball first baseman in the Kansas City Royals organization.

Career

Amateur career

Pratto hit a walk-off single for Huntington Beach in the 2011 Little League World Series championship game against Japan.[1][2]

Pratto attended Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California his first two years of high school before transferring to Huntington Beach High School in Huntington Beach, California.[3] In 2015, he played for Team USA at the 18U Baseball World Cup.[4]

Professional career

Pratto was considered one of the top prospects for the 2017 Major League Baseball draft.[5] He was committed to the University of Southern California (USC) to play college baseball.[6] He was teammates with Hagen Danner, who was also a top prospect for the 2017 draft.[7][8] The Kansas City Royals selected Pratto with the 14th overall pick in the draft.[9] He signed and was assigned to the AZL Royals where he spent the 2017 season, posting a .247 batting average with four home runs, 34 RBIs and ten stolen bases in 52 games.[10] He spent 2018 with the Lexington Legends, batting .280/.343/.443 with 14 home runs, 62 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases in 127 games.[11]

Pratto spent 2019 with the Wilmington Blue Rocks.[12] Over 124 games, he slashed .191/.278/.310 with nine home runs and 46 RBIs.[13] He began 2021 with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. In June, Pratto was selected to play in the All-Star Futures Game.[14] After slashing .273/.405/.573 with 15 home runs and 43 RBIs over sixty games, he was promoted to the Omaha Storm Chasers.[15]
