Nokhar is located at a distance of 18 km from Nowshera Virkan and about 33 km from Gujranwala on Gujranwala-Hafizabad road. The distance of Hafizabad from Nokhar is 22 km and Alipur Chattha is 30 km away. The village is under territorial jurisdiction of Police Station Kot Ladha. The total area of Nokhar is about 3,600 acres (15 km2).Majority of people are Muslims alongside Christians as minority. This is also known as “Land of Saikhu” because most of people belongs to jatt tribe “Saikhu”. Popular faces are Nazar Muhammad Saikhu (died),Abbas Saikhu,Mansha Saikhu(Ex Nazim) and Muhammad Asghar Saikhu (retired professor) There are schools, colleges as well as hospital in this town. It is quite famous among its surrounding small villages as educational hub as well as market. Popular places are Almateen Marquee,Nokhar Mandi,Bazar, Nokhar Adda, Dera Nazar Muhammad and Bashir House
