The Ogba people are an Igbo subgroup that reside in Northern rivers state . The Ogba people speak Ogba which is an Igbo dialect . The Ogbas reside in what is called Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni in Rivers state Nigeria . The Ogba language has three dialects Usomini,Igburu,Egi dialect. he Ogba kingdom is made up of Egi, Igburu, Usomini clans and the largest town Omoku Urban.Ogba people speak two dialects of the ogba languages, the Egi and Igburu. Eligbo and Ukporomini are two ogba communities in Ahaoda East local government area, while Itu II in Emohua LGA also speak ogba language.
==History== The Ogba people originated from Igboland centuries ago . They resided in Northern Rivers state . In , the 1400s during the time of Oba Ewuare I of the Benin Kingdom . The Benin Kingdom influenced the Ekpeye people in Rivers state. A group of Benin influenced Igbo people migrated from Ekpeye land to what is now Ogba land although the Ogba people originated from Igboland . The Ekpeye and Ogba people adopted a prince called Akalaka . Even though the Ogbas are Igbos , Akalaka is the ancestor of the Ogba people . In , the late 1970s after the Biafran war , the Ogba people including many Igbo subgroups in Rivers state refused to have their Igbo identity but Benin. That is why some Ogba people say they are from Benin and not Igboland.
