Poupelle of Chimney Town (Japanese: 映画 えんとつ町のプペル, Hepburn: Entotsu-machi no Poupelle) is a 2020 Japanese animated children's fantasy film animated by Studio 4°C, directed by Yusuke Hirota, featuring character designs by Atsuko Fukushima.[1][2]

Production

The film is based on a picture book authored by Japanese actor and comedian, Akihiro Nishino, who also wrote the film's screenplay and was the film's executive producer.[3] The film premiered in Japan on December 25, 2020 and is set to premier worldwide in 2021. The opening three minutes is currently being streamed online with English subtitles.[4] The film will be released with an English dub on October 23, 2021, at the Animation Is Film festival in Los Angeles. Eleven Arts announced that the English dub will feature the voices of Tony Hale, Antonio Raul Corbo, Stephen Root and Hasan Minhaj.[5]
