Qutbi Brothers are an Sufi singers and musicians group. Qutbi Brothers are well-known qawwals for their distinct style of sufi, astana Gayaki, and the contemporary qawwali tradition in india. Haji Mohammad Idris and Arshad Hussain better known as the Qutbi Brothers. They are the inheritors of 800 years qawwali tradition that developed and grew over several generations by great masters in the Indian music scene.

History

Qutbi Brothers Qawwal are an Astana singers at the mausoleum (Dargah) of Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki in Delhi, where they have been given the eponymous prestige of calling himself the Qutbi. Qutbi Brothers having a legacy lineage of almost 800 years of great stalwarts, many of whom were great classical singers apart from being qawwali singers. Being the sons of Mohd Yusuf Qutbi. Qutbi Brother’s father Mohd Yusuf Qutbi was performed his qawwali performance in front of Respt Mahatma Gandhi Ji (Father of Nation India).

Biography, Career profile and discography

Qutbi Brothers started singing at a very early age and today they are one of the most sought-after qawwali singers in the sufi styles, astana gayki, and the modern qawwali tradition in India.

Qutbi Brothers are the world's first Qawwals who have created the "World Record" in qawwali in which they performed 12 hours continuously in 2016 at Sangeet Natak Akademi in New Delhi to promote the tradition. They even created a record in the Limca Book of World Records for their contribution towards sufi qawwali. Qutbi Brothers have earned the "Top Grade" level of artistry, as recognised by All India Radi (Akashwani) and also an empaneled as "Outstanding" Artist by ICCR and the Ministry of Culture (India). They can sing qawwali compositions in Urdu, Hindi, Persian, Punjabi written by poet-saints such as Amir Khusrau, Baba Farid, Bulleh Shah, Kabir, and Meera among others.

In their career spanning several decades, They have never failed to mesmerize audiences both in India and abroad at multiple music shows and festivals. They have even performed in front of India's former president, late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at Humayun Tomb, Delhi.

Their music albums have been released with the most prestigious music labels of india such as, Zee Music Company, T-Series, Venus among others.

Awards and Recognitions

For their work and contribution in the field of Qawwali, Qutbi Brothers have received several awards such as Genius Indian Achiever's Award (For World Record Contribution), Special Prize from Parliament House (India), Atal Bihari Award 2019 (In Delhi ), Yaad-e-Rajiv Gandhi Award, Ghulam Mustafa Khan Award 2020 and among others.

Social Work

Along with live performing, Qutbi Brothers are associated with various social works. They perform live for various social causes to raise funds. In 2018 they performed for a fundraiser event for the unprivileged children organized by Salaam Baalak Trust. They recently performed in Gujrat at a fundraiser to support 40 CRPF Braveheart’s Families of Pulwama Terror Attack.
