Sansong Revolutionary Site
The Sansong Revolutionary Site is a memorial to a meeting of provincial representatives of groups advocating independence from Japan convened in November, 1921 by Kim Hyong-jik, the father of Kim Il-sung, the founder of North Korea. It is located within the ancient fort on Mount Kuwol.[1] The conclusion of this meeting was that armed struggle was the only way to achieve independence from Japan. The historicity of this claim, along with other claims about Kim Hyong-jik's role, is disputed.
