Premise

A top MI5 spy is exiled to “Slough House” after making career damaging mistakes.

The series was given a straight to series order by Apple TV+ in October 2019, with Gary Oldman announced to star.[1] The cast was rounded out in December 2020 with the additions of Olivia Cooke, Jonathan Pryce, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jack Lowden. The show will consist of two sets of six episodes, with conflicting reports as to whether this means two six-episode seasons, or one season in two parts. The first six episodes are reportedly based on Mick Herron's first book, Slow Horses, with the following six episodes based on the sequel, Dead Lions.[2]

Filming began on November 30, 2020 in England, and continued into February 2021, with Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas spotted on set in Westminster, London.[3] In July 2021, filming continued in Stroud, Gloucestershire.[4]

It was originally intended to film earlier in 2020 but was delayed to the COVID-19 pandemic.[5][6]
