History
At the D23 Expo 2017, Space 220 Restaurant was announced as an expansion of the Mission: SPACE pavilion. The new restaurant was originally set to open in the winter of 2019, but the opening was delayed until September 2021.[1][2]
Restaurant
Entry into the restaurant is via a room with circular viewing screens on the floor and ceiling, showing a simulated space elevator journey 220 miles (350 km) into the Centauri Space Station.[3] The "elevator" room opens on the dining area, which has screens showing a panoramic view of earth from space.[4]
While looking at the view of the earth, guests can see a dog floating in space, an astronaut playing with an X-wing, astronauts lightsaber fighting, and the Mission: SPACE shuttle from the ride.[5]
