Tamisha Iman

Tamisha Iman (born October 16, 1970) is the stage name of Will Crawford, an American drag queen most known for competing on the thirteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race and winning several Drag pageants. She is also a drag matriarch. She is the founder of the famous Drag Family, the Iman Dynasty. Iman has been doing drag for the past 30 years.

Early life

Tamisha Iman was born in Birmingham, Alabama.[1]

Career

Tamisha Iman is a drag performer who was cast for the thirteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. She had originally been selected to compete in the show's twelfth season but had to cancel in order to receive radiation therapy for colon cancer. She competed at the age of 49, wearing an ostomy bag.[2][3] Tamisha Iman was eliminated on the season's sixth episode.[4] Jordan Robledo of Gay Times called her a "standout talent".[5]

Tamisha Iman has competed in many drag pageants and received dozens of titles, including Miss Black Universe and Miss GayUSofA.[6] She creates most of her outfits and does her own hair and makeup.[7] Among her drag "children" are Tandi Iman Dupree[6] and fellow Drag Race contestant LaLa Ri.[8][9] Iman also "adopted" fellow Drag Race contestant, Kahmora Hall into her drag family. [10]

Personal life

Tamisha Iman lives in Atlanta, and has previously lived in Dallas and New Orleans. She has experienced homelessness.[1]

Iman had three biological children before she turned 18 while still in high school. One of her children, Tamisha is where she got the first part of her drag name from. She has supported approximately 80 "drag children". Tamisha Iman has been described as a "drag veteran" and a "legend".[11][12]
