Tanner Allen

Tanner Gregory Allen (born June 5, 1998) is an American outfielder who was selected in the 4th round by the Miami Marlins.

College career

Allen started all 68 games as a freshman for the 2018 Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team, primarily as a first baseman. He finished the season with a .287 batting average and was named to the SEC All-Freshman team and helped team the Bulldogs to the 2018 College World Series.

Allen increased his average to .349 in 2019, starting all 64 games at first base. He was named First Team All-SEC and again led the Bulldogs to the College World Series

After the Covid-19 pandemic canceled his 2020 season after playing in only 8 games, Allen starred in 2021. He was named SEC Player of the Year after the 2021 season.[1] He was a consensus All-American and the ABCA National Player of the Year.[2] He was named to the All-Tournament Team of the 2021 College World Series as the Bulldogs won the national title.[3]

Allen was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the fourth round, 118th overall, of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft.
