Tekes River

Tekes River[1] or Tekesi River[2] (Chinese: 特克斯河) is one of the three major tributaries of the Ili River[3] and is a snowmelt river.[4] The river is the main source of the Ili River.[5]

The Tekes River originates on the north side of Khan Tengri,[6] flows from west to east to the Kademing Mountains, then joins with the Gongnaisi River, then turns west and joins with the Kax River, enters Kazakhstan, and finally flows into Lake Balkhash.[7]
