Thapki Pyar Ki 2

Thapki Pyar Ki 2 (lit. A Light Touch of Love 2) is an Indian television series that premiered on 4 October 2021 on Colors TV.[1] Produced by Shoonya Square Productions, it is a spiritual sequel to the 2015 series Thapki Pyar Ki.[2] It stars Jigyasa Singh and Aakash Ahuja.[3]

Plot

Vaani "Thapki" Tripathi is a lovely girl blessed with a melodious voice, but stammers whenever nervous, which causes a major obstacle on her path of dreams. Thapki's role-model Veena Devi, a Padma Shri award-winner has a handsome and rich son called Purab. Thapki's mother Rukmini lost her voice when her husband Mukul left them years ago. Now, he lives with his second wife's daughter Hansika, a gold digger and Purab's college friend.

Upon hearing Thapki's voice, Veena wants her wedding to Purab who instead chooses to marry Hansika even though he doesn't love her. But, due to Veena's trap in a shocking turn of events, Thapki weds Purab. Later, Veena discovers her stuttering and decides to throw her out. Firstly, even Purab doesn't like her. Purab promises Rukmini, Thapki's mother to fulfill their marriage and supports Thapki that upsets Veena. Little by little, their relationship is getting strong. They help each other in every moment.

Production

Development

Production of the series began in August 2021.[4]

Casting

When the second season was in pre-production, Jigyasa Singh who played Thapki in the first season, was then appearing in another Colors soap opera Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki as Heer Singh.[5] Later when her character was killed off in August-end, she shortly afterward signed the second season of this series.[6] Aakash Ahuja was cast as Purab Singhania and Jaya Bhattacharya was cast as Veena Devi Singhania.[7]
