The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye

The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye (Japanese: 夏へのトンネル、さよならの出口, Hepburn: Natsu e no Tonneru, Sayonara no Deguchi) is a Japanese light novel written by Mokune Hachi and illustrated by Kukka, published by Shogakukan under its Gagaga Bunko imprint in July 2019. A manga adaptation, titled The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye: Ultramarine and illustrated by Koudon, started in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X in July 2020. Both the light novel and manga are licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. An anime film adaptation by CLAP will premiere in 2022.

Light novel

The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye, written by Mokune Hachi and illustrated by Kukka, was released by Shogakukan under its Gagaga Bunko imprint on July 18, 2019.[2]

In July 2021, Seven Seas Entertainment announced that they had licensed the light novel for English release in North America.[3] It is set to be released on July 5, 2022.[4]

Manga

A manga adaptation, The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye: Ultramarine (夏へのトンネル、さよならの出口　群青, Natsu e no Tonneru, Sayonara no Deguchi Gunjō), illustrated by Koudon, started its serialization in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X on July 18, 2020.[5] The series is also being published on the MangaONE app. The first of two parts finished on October 1, 2021.[6] Shogakukan has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on December 18, 2020.[7] As of August 19, 2021, three volumes have been released.[8]

In July 2021, Seven Seas Entertainment announced that they had licensed the manga for English release in North America, to start publishing in July 2022.[3]

Anime film

An anime film adaptation was announced on December 15, 2021. It is produced by CLAP and directed by Tomohisa Taguchi. The film will premiere in 2022.[11]
