Vahagn Khachaturyan

Vahagn Khachatryan (Armenian: Վահագն Խաչատուրյան, Vahagn Khachaturyan; born July 26, 1959 in Sisian) is an Armenian politician.[1] He served as Mayor of Yerevan from 1992 to 1996 and is the current Minister of High-Tech Industry (2021–).[2][3]

He is a member of the Armenian National Congress and led the ANC list in the 2013 Yerevan City Council election.[4]

Biography

Vahagn Khachaturyan was born in 1959 in Sisian. In 1980 he graduated from the Yerevan Institute of National Economy, with the qualification of economist. 1982-1989 he worked in “HrazdanMash” (Hrazdan Instrumental Production) Enterprise, 1989-1992 has been Deputy General Director of “Mars” Factory, 1990-1996 – Deputy of Yerevan City Council, 1992-1996 – Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Deputies, Yerevan City Council (Mayor of Yerevan), 1995-1999 - National Assembly Deputy, 1996-1998 - Adviser to the President of the Republic of Armenia. In 2002- Vice President of the Center for Political Science, Law, and Economic Research. Since 2021 - Minister of High-Tech Industry.
