Waskemeer

Waskemeer (West Frisian: Waskemar) is a village of about 840 inhabitants in the municipality of Ooststellingwerf[1] in the east of Friesland, the Netherlands.

The village lies in the north of Ooststellingwerf and small part of the village lays within in the municipality of Opsterland. The Village is named after a pond 2 km to the west called Waskmar, which in turn means 'wash-lake' as it was used to wash sheep.

Football

Waskemeer has a football team called Fuotbalferiening Waskemar. Its uniform is black and the shirt has a green horizontal band and white arm band. The trousers are black with green pin stripe, and green socks with black band.[2]
