Zaidu Sanusi

Zaidu Sanusi (born 13 June 1997) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Portuguese club Porto and the Nigeria national team.[1]

Career

On 16 March 2019, Sanusi signed an agreement to join Santa Clara for the 2019–20 season. [2] He made his debut in a 2–0 Primeira Liga win over Moreirense F.C. on 15 September 2019.[3]

On 30 August 2020, Portuguese champions FC Porto announced the signing of Sanusi from rivals Santa Clara. Zaidu signed a five-year deal with the Blue and Whites which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025.[4]

On 23 December 2020, Sanusi won the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira with Porto after defeating Benfica 2–0 at Estádio Municipal de Aveiro. It was the first trophy of his professional career.[5]

International career

Sanusi made his debut with the Nigeria national team in a friendly 1–0 defeat against Algeria on 9 October 2020.[6] A month later in November, he made his official debut in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification where Nigeria was held to a 4–4 draw against Sierra Leone.[7]
