2022 Super GT Series
The 2022 Super GT Series is a motor racing championship based in Japan for grand touring cars. The series is sanctioned by the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) and run by the GT Association (GTA). It is the twenty-ninth season of the Japan Automobile Federation Super GT Championship which includes the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) era and the seventeenth season the series to compete under the Super GT name. It is the thirty-ninth overall season of a national JAF sportscar championship dating back to the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship.

Calendar
A confirmed six-round and possible additional two-round provisional 2022 calendar was announced on 6 August 2021.[1]

Teams and drivers
GT500
GT500 Class
- Nissan will replace the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT500 with the new updated Nissan Fairlady Z GT500 after 13 years of competition. The carmaker last used the Fairlady Z nameplate in the 2007 season.[4]
GT500 Class
- Honda: Bertrand Baguette will leave Real Racing and Honda altogether after drive with the manufacturer for over 7 years.[5]
- Toyota: Toyota Gazoo Racing announced their Super GT driver line-up on 6 December 2021.[6] 2021 Title winner, Yuhi Sekiguchi will transfer to SARD after Heikki Kovalainen retirement in the series.[7] Giuliano Alesi promoted to the GT500 class after competed with arto Team Thailand in the GT300 class, joining the winning title team, au Team TOM'S,replacing Sekiguchi in the process. Ryo Hirakawa will leave the series after competed for 8 years to join Toyota Gazoo Racing to compete in 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship. With Ritomo Miyata fill the KeePer Team TOM'S left by Hirakawa, Sena Sakaguchi who had couple of appearance in the GT500 class, will race with WedsSport Bandoh.
