ACME Night

ACME Night is a weekly American programming block that premiered on September 19, 2021 on Cartoon Network, airing on Sunday evenings. ACME Night targets a family audience and primarily airs animated and live-action feature films.[1]

History

On February 5, 2021, Tom Ascheim stated in an interview with Kidscreen that Cartoon Network would expand its offerings to include series aimed at family audiences, girls, and preschoolers.[2]

On September 1, 2021, WarnerMedia Kids & Family announced ACME Night, a block for Cartoon Network targeting family audiences. It launched on September 19, carrying mainly Warner Bros. Pictures films which are appropriate for an older teenage audience (along with other acquired films), followed by programs usually seen on TBS and truTV. TBS and Cartoon Network simulcast Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses, a quiz show hosted by Helen Mirren.

Future plans for the block include exclusive films and programs, including Batman: Caped Crusader and Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, which will also be available on the day of their premieres via HBO Max.
