Babai (Pashtun tribe)
The Babai (Pashto:بابئی) is a Pashtun tribe formerly known as (Babai بابئی) or (Babi بابی).
Their traditional primary homeland is in (Zabul Qalat : زابل قلات ) located in Southern Afghanistan and (Kandahar کندھار).
Babai is subtribe of "Hotak"(Pashto: هوتک) , Ghilzai, Khilji (غلزی,خلجی).
Babai tribe largely settled in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
The tribe speaks the most archaic and soft dialect Pashto language, referred to as Kandahari Pashto dialect or the Southern Dialect.[1]
The Rulers and Nawabs of Junagadh State, (Gujrat) India also belong to the Babai tribe.
