Blacklist International

Blacklist International's Mobile Legends represents the Philippines. The team traces its roots to SxC Imbalance, which was acquired by EVOS Esports of Indonesia. The roster was absorbed by Blacklist after dissolution of EVOS Philippines due to alleged corruption in the organization.[1]

Tier One Entertainment bought some of Evos Philippines' roster and rebranded it as Blacklist International. They are powerful at initially, dominating the league behind SunSparks. However, the teams began to adjust their gamestyles, resulting in the development of counters and methods that may potentially defeat Blacklist. They came in sixth place, just ahead of SGD Omega.

During the Sixth Season of MPL PH Blacklist International would acquire veteran Mark Jayson "ESON" Gerardo after a short stint break from Season 5 and FULLCLIP (now known as Kairi). Blacklist International would end up finishing the Regular Season as the Third Seed in Group A, with a 3-2 and 8-5 Match Win-Loss result. Blacklist would however, loose their contention for the Championship after getting defeated by Smart Omega in 5 Games.[2]

During the Offseason of the recently concluded MPL PH Season 6, Blacklist began making moves to reorganize and remake their roster before the start of Season 7. One notable change that is still felt today, was the acquisition of Blacklist of Johnmar "OhMyV33NUS" Villaluna and Danerie "Wise." Del Rosario, known as the "VeeWise Tandem" from ONIC Philippines in return for FULLCLIP (now known as Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol.)[3]. Despite the move being called out as "Unfair" for ONIC Ph that lost two of their stars, this would be a massive turning point at the start of MPL Philippines Season 7 and Season 8.[4] Blacklist would also pick up Kiel Calvin "OHEB" Soriano, a promising rookie for non-turtle laners, and with a shot-calling ability and massive leadership ability given by OhMY33NUS during their time with ONIC, he was appointed as the Captain of the team going in Season 7.[5]

At the start of Season 7, Blacklist International roared the competition, being one of the best teams in the entire league. With the new roles of the VeeWise Tandem that they are taking, with the all-new-improved roster and coaching changes that had been made, Blacklist International would ultimately win 12 games and only loose 1 matchup against Bren Esports during Week 5, Blacklist finished the Season as the First Seed, winning 25-7 Matches and an impressive 12-1 game record.[6] Blacklist International would win their first matchup against Bren Esports in the Upper-Bracket Finals and beating Aura Philippines sealing their spot into the Grand Finals. Execration would meet Blacklist in the finals as one of the most hyped up matches in MPL PH history. Blacklist would go on to suffer a 3-1 deficit against Execration, however, with numerous adjustments and very unexpected picks beginning with the Faramis pick on Game 5, Blacklist has turned the table and won the Championship in 7 Games, the first time a Finals Game led to a Game 7.[7]

Blacklist International would recoup and compete for the Eight Season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League in the Philippines as one of the most-feared teams with the addition of Salic “Hadjizy” Imam.[8] Blacklist International would maintain a dominant performance and standing within the competition, going 11-0 undefeated[9] until it took their first lost to ONIC Philippines, the only team that managed to beat Blacklist International in the competition.[10] Blacklist International would finish 13-1 and 26-7 Games Win and Loses, winning over Bren Esports for their final regular season game.[11]

In the Playoffs, Blacklist International would be put into Match 4 in the Upper-Bracket. Blacklist would eventually loose 3-1 against Smart Omega, lowering them to the lower-bracket. This was partially due to the suspension of their player Kiel Calvin "OHEB" Soriano after pulling up a middle finger after their regular season win over Smart Omega.[12] Blacklist International would defeat both NEXPLAY EVOS and Smart OMEGA in the Lower Bracket competitions in a 3-0[13] and 3-1 series, respectively, putting them in the position of obtaining back-to-back titles. In the Finals, they would face off ONIC Philippines.[14] Blacklist International would be named Champions of MPL Philippines Season 8 after defeating ONIC Philippines in 5 Games.[15] Blacklist International is the second team in MPL Philippines History to win back-to-back titles, the other being Sunsparks for Seasons 4 and 5.

Prior to the cancellation of MSC 2020, MPL Philippines Season 7 was still continued as planed with minor postpone schedules in the process. This would eventually lead up to a Blacklist-Execration battle that would ultimately favor Blacklist International, giving it its first Championship Title.[7] This also led to Blacklist International and the eventual runner-up Execration to represent the Philippines in the regional competition MSC 2021 in Singapore.[16] Both Blacklist and Execration faced off juggernaut teams in the region, including M1 Champions EVOS Legends and Bigetron Alpha, and qualifying teams and champions of their respective MPL Competitions in EVOS Singapore, TODAK Malaysia, RSG Singapore, Impunity KH, Nightmare Esports, and Cybe EXE.

Blacklist International would sweep Bigetron Alpha for their first matchup and one of the dominating games Blacklist has put on a show. Blacklist would as well defeat in a sweep, Impunity KH the following day.[17] Blacklist International, alongside RSG Malaysia, EVOS Legends and Execration would end up in the Upper-Bracket with the first competitions in the Lower-Bracket being Bigetron Alpha, TODAK, Impunity KH and EVOS Singapore. Blacklist International would seal their positions and spot in MSC 2021 with a 3-0 sweep against EVOS Legends. Blacklist would meet Execration in a Rematch in the finals, however, the title would eventually go to Execration, finishing the series in 4-1.[18]

Despite the loss in MSC 2021, Blacklist International would continue to make history for winning back-to-back titles for both Season 7 and Season 8 of MPL Philippines, and would redeem the loss to represent the Philippines in the M3 World Championships in Singapore. The Philippines is known as one of the most-dominant nations when it comes to Mobile Legends in numerous tournaments alongside Indonesia. Together with ONIC Philippines, both teams will be representing the Philippines in the Championships to make history again, to claim the championship title and the first nation to obtain back-to-back world championship titles, as M2 was won by the Philippines' own Bren Esports.

On the first day of M3 championship they defeated the Brazilian team, Red Canids with the famous "Mathilda Airlines" of OhmyV33nus. On the second game against the Turkish team BEDEL they still manage to win despite of hard times on early game and last the Latin American team Malvidas Gaming which gives them a clear sweep of 3-0 in the Group A bracket and secured the slot for upper bracket.[19] Blacklist is scheduled to face BTK of the North American Qualifiers on their first match of the Upper-Bracket Playoffs.[20] Blacklist International would ended up losing the Best of 5 Matchup in the Upper-Bracket match (2-3), sending Blacklist to the Lower-Bracket Matchup.[21] ONIC Indonesia would end up winning a 2-0 matchup against MPL Malaysia Champions Team SMG and would face off against Blacklist for the Quarterfinals[22]. With a win in Game 1, Blacklist was determined to finish the series in 2 games, but would end up to a Game 3 after ONIC Indonesia ends up obtaining more defense against the Marksmen heroes of OHEB and Wise. However, Game 3 would be a victory for Blacklist International, securing them a spot and avenging their lost in MPLI, wherein ONIC Indonesia would defeat Blacklist in 4 games.[23]

On the next day of the Playoffs, Blacklist International would face off VIVO Keyd of Brazil and MPL Brazil Runner-Up. VIVO Keyd defeated Bedel from Turkey and advanced to face-off Blacklist International. Blacklist would win Game 1 with a defensive stance against VIVO Keyd's picks in damage, while Game 2, Blacklist would introduce their dominant figure, finishing the game 11-0 with MVP Danerie James "Wise." Del Rosario's Championship Bane, going 7/0/2. Blacklist would eventually sweep VIVO Keyd 3-0 in the Match[24]. With ONIC Philippines's 3-0 sweep on RRQ Hoshi[25], Blacklist International would face off against RRQ Hoshi on December 17, 2021.[26] Blacklist International successfully defeated the "King of the kings" of Indonesia RRQ HOSHI, on the first game Hadji's pharsa defended the base prevents RRQ on comeback. On the second game Blacklist International clean sweeps the indonesian team on the 11-11 score and finally on the game 3, Oheb's clint leads Blacklist to the 3-0 clean sweep against the opponent team.[27][28]
