Dmanisi Municipality

Dmanisi (Georgian: დმანისის მუნიციპალიტეტი) is a district of Georgia, in the region of Kvemo Kartli. Its main town is Dmanisi. There are 59 settlements in the municipality: 1 town and 58 villages.

The population is 28,034 according to the 2002 census. The ethnic composition is 31.2% Georgian, 66.7% Azerbaijani. The population density is 23 people per square kilometer. The area is 1198.8[3][4] km2

Politics

Dmanisi Municipal Assembly (Georgian: დმანისის საკრებულო) is a representative body in Dmanisi Municipality. currently consisting of 31 members. The council is assembles into session regularly, to consider subject matters such as code changes, utilities, taxes, city budget, oversight of city government and more. Dmanisi sakrebulo is elected every four year. The last election was held in October 2021.[5]
