Nicholls has won 14 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. In September 2017, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 943. On 8 November 2021, she peaked at No. 187 in the WTA doubles rankings.[1]
Nicholls graduated from Loughborough University.[2] At the 2017 Summer Universiade held in Taipei, Taiwan, she won the bronze medal in women's doubles, along with Emily Arbuthnott.[3]
In June 2021, she won the 25k doubles tournament in Figueira da Foz, Portugal, alongside compatriot Alicia Barnett.[4]
