Sabor a Miel

"Sabor a Miel" is a song recorded by Mexican singer Paulina Rubio for her debut studio album, La Chica Dorada (1992). The single was released for Capitol Latin in August 1993 in US and the spring of these year in Latin America. The song was written by José Ramón Flórez and Cesar Valle and produced by Miguel Blasco.

The song reached number five in Panama.[1] In the United States was number twenty-two on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks.[2]

A promotional unofficial music video inspired in the Middle Ages was released in early 1993 only to Mexican special television show,[3] including the new jack swing song "Sangre Latina". Considered something of a gem, Rubio perform "Sabor A Miel" (as part of medleys) during her shows and according to critics, one of his best interpretations, vocally speaking.

A promotional video was released in a Mexican special television show in 1993 to promote La Chica Dorada; also, it included the new jack swing song of the album "Sangre Latina". The shot meant to look like it is shot in Middle Ages while Rubio looks sad in her bed remember her boyfriend, who murder dead in a fight. Rubio's hair is set in waves and she is wearing a golden dress and dramatic makeup.

According to Rubio, the song was inspired in a relationship with a boyfriend who died before to begin her solo career. In the video, she reflects poetically the depression and sadness she experienced during that period.

A similar style to the Middle Ages shows in his video "Suave y Sutil" From the album Deseo (2018), with clothes, accessories and makeup from that era, where Rubio takes the appearance of a femme fatale.

Live performances

Rubio performed the song on multiple television programs in different Latin American countries. It was one of the most performed songs from La Chica Dorada. One of the most memorable performances was when she performed on the Mexican TV show Siempre en Domingo, where she sang along with her three backup singers and her musicians.
