The Witch in the Window is a 2018 American horror drama film edited, produced, written and directed by Andy Mitton and starring Arija Bareikis, Alex Draper (who is also a producer) and Charlie Tacker. The film premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival on July 23, 2018.[1]

Plot

Renovating a house was never that spooky! Finn is a twelve-year-old boy who was sent out from his mother's house to his sick father's shack in Vermont, following an argument over watching something over the Internet. Upon arriving, he and his father, Simon, starting to renovate a house only to find out that the house is being haunted. A ghost of a woman from the opposite house is a frequent visitor of the place who was deemed as a witch by the children in the neighborhood due to her hermitic lifestyle and sudden death.

Shudder acquired distribution for the film to be released in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.[2]

Reception

On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 69% based on 13 critics, with an average rating of 6/10.[3]

Kalyn Corrigan of Bloody Disgusting called it "One of the most exciting horror movies of the year".[4]
