Zhdanivka
Zhdanivka (Ukrainian: Жданівка, Russian: Ждановка) is a city of oblast significance in Donetsk Oblast (province) of Ukraine. Population: 11,913 (2021 est.)[1]; 12,352 (2013 est.)[2]; 13,688 (2001).

Starting Mid-April 2014 pro-Russian separatists captured several towns in Donetsk Oblast;[3][4] including Zhdanivka.[5] On 16 August 2014, Ukrainian forces reportedly secured the city from the pro-Russian separatists.[6] On 20 September 2014, Ukrainian troops left the city due to the threat of encirclement.[7] Since then, it has remained under control of the DPR.
