Qeybalı

Qeybalı or Ghaibalishen (Armenian: Ղայբալիշեն) is a village de fact in the Shushi Province of the Republic of Artsakh, and de jure in the Khojaly District of Azerbaijan.

History

According to the 1897 census, 381 Armenians and 133 Azerbaijanis lived in the village. [1]

In July 1919, about 600 Armenian inhabitants of the village were massacred by armed Kurdish irregulars and Azerbaijani soldiers. Qeybalı was looted and burnt.[2][3]

The village had an Azerbaijani majority prior to the First Nagorno-Karabakh War.[4]
